Anji Timlin is the 2019 recipient of the Joan Day Painting Bursary at South Square Centre.
Each Saturday in June during lockdown Anji has been meeting a small group of individuals on Zoom interested in painting and sketching their surroundings during this isolated period.
Anji’s sessions will continue fortnightly with live zoom sessions available for anyone to join, gain feedback about their work, or just simply sketch a long with other people.
Saturday 11 July will be the first of possibly two in person sketching sessions taking place in Thornton Village, near by South Square Centre. The sessions are free, and if you would like to join email email@example.com as we would like to keep numbers limited.
If you fancy joining, go out for a walk, do some quick sketches and take a few photos, then come home, grab a cuppa, and some art materials (old felt tips, biros and a cereal box are fine if that’s what you’ve got!!) We’ll all work on our art and if you want to show the others you can, and we can chat about our techniques etc. Afterwards, if you feel like it, you can share your work on #SouthSquareSketchers.
If you’d like to join the zoom sketch booking session email firstname.lastname@example.org or message us on Facebook / Instagram for the zoom link.
The Sketchers will be working towards displaying some work at South Square in the early Autumn.
