The centre can be accessed via public transport from Bradford City Centre. There is on street parking available near to the centre.

Due to the unique nature of our heritage building the centre has limited accessibility for wheelchairs users. Most community spaces including the café and gallery spaces are accessible. Please ring ahead for more information.

Thornton Antiquarian Societies Archive

Contact or call 01274 834747 to make an appointment. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings are generally possible for archive volunteers but best to book in advance to ensure access to this amazing collection of local historical artefacts.  

The Watchmaker

The gallery will be closing for the Christmas period at 3pm on Friday 20th December 2019 and reopen on Tuesday 14th January 2019.

Plenty at the Square will be open as normal until Sunday 22rd December and reopen Tuesday 7th January 2020. 

The Watchmaker will be open 3-9pm Christmas Eve, 12-3pm Christmas Day and 1pm-9pm Boxing Day.  The bar will be closed from 2nd January and reopen on Thursday 16th January 2020.

Thornton Village Community Library

In April 2017 South Square became the accountable organisation for the Thornton Library, it is now run by a team of committed volunteers. It is located a short walk from South Square Centre on Market Street.
