Transforming South Square

In 2021, South Square Centre completed its largest capital renovation since its inception in 1982. Conservation works were undertaken to refurbish our Grade II listed building. Repairs were made to the roof, 99 sash windows, and brickwork as well as introducing insulation, secondary glazing, heating and updating fire safety measures. The project was funded by National Heritage Lottery Fund alongside a 3-year Heritage programme of exhibitions, workshops, and outreach projects. In this exhibition, we reflect on our journey and transformation that the £1.3m investment from lottery players has enabled.
