Over 8 weeks, members of the Café West community in Allerton worked with artist Lou Sumray to experiment in creating digital art. These artists took inspiration from their surroundings and imaginary worlds to draw digitally on tablets using the app Procreate and Brushes.
Some artists joined us for every workshop and others dropped in to create a quick sketch. Everyone was invited to draw what they truly wanted to create and many were drawing digitally for the first time.
The exhibition shared all of the digital artwork that the community created and took us on a journey through real places, imagined realms, representations of difficult times, and drawings of happier times.
The presentation was a celebration of creativity that turned the screens of our phones and tablets that we scroll through into creative devices.
With thanks to Harry Jelley from Brickbox, Chris from Café West, Lou Sumray and all the artists that took part.
