South Square Garden

Following the eight-month capital renovation, work began on our garden space to improve the look, feel and functionality.  The pandemic has undoubtedly increased the important of outside social space, so we made it an aim to create an open, inviting garden space for all.

Our garden is accessible to use during opening hours Wed – Sun, through the entrance at the back of the courtyard. The garden closes at 7.30pm.

Entrance via Priestley Street is available on request. The terrain is unfortunately not accessible for wheelchairs.

We ask South Square’s visitors to refrain from parking on Priestley St, Friendly St or Enderley road.

In July 2021, we launched our Summer Workshop & Events programme including free activities taking place in the garden for families. Click here to read about the events taking place.  You can also visit the Titanic Relaunched outdoor props and drop-in activities which are open from 10th July – 25th September 2021 and anytime during opening hours.

South Square would love to hear your suggestions about events and activities to take place in the garden.

We would like to say a big THANK YOU to our volunteers who helped transform the garden, who donated time and plants. We couldn’t have achieved this without you!

The garden renovation was supported by; Bradford Council’s outdoor trading grant and Arts Council England’s Cultural Recovery Fund and Bradford VCS Alliance’s Asset Based Community Development Fund.
