Unit 9 artist Richard Mort, presents a wonderful portfolio of portraiture and abstract canvases produced over the last few years. They show opposite strands of his work. Not to be missed.

“I like to experiment with colour and light, thus the paintings using mirror tiles. I like to use the canvas as a three-dimensional form in space to be carved into and applique-ed on.”

“With my portraits I try to catch the essence of the subject thus bringing them to life. Many are family, friends and acquaintances, some deceased, given to the family as a reminder. I am constantly experimenting with new idioms to expand my repertoire”
