South Square is pleased to present this series of Thornton landscapes by Unit 9 member, Kate Stewart. Captured in watercolour, these artworks capture the rugged beauty of the Great Northern Railway Trail and Thornton Viaduct.
“I, like so many other artists past and present, love the mixture of the industrial past and the bare Yorkshire landscape and have spent a lot on my time trying to capture its very particular beauty.
Shockingly I only ‘discovered’ the Thornton Viaduct and Great Northern Railway Trail last year, despite having lived in Bradford for over thirty years. I have walked the trail often since then and have tried to record some of its delights in these watercolours and hangings”
Kate will be in the gallery on Sunday 3rd, 10th and 24th July.
