Emerging artist George T Lowes originates from the North East and has settled in the scenic town of Haworth, Bradford. Oil is his medium of choice as it allows him to play with light, colour and texture, permitting him explore his feelings on canvas.
This debut exhibition presents impressionist landscapes in oil inspired by the ever changing cycle of nature around his beloved village. He encourages the viewer to stop and contemplate the vista. He is intrigued by the notion of how lived experience affects the viewers translation of the art.
‘We all go through seasons and cycles as well as the world. Nature has a way of bringing out the best in us, providing ways to understand ourselves and our place in the world. Painting is my way of expressing the changes I see around me. One of the best things about art is, we all see in different ways’ – G T Lowes
