Beth Cartwright is an emerging artist based in Slaithwaite, West Yorkshire.

She has always enjoyed being creative, but it was during lockdown that she began to focus on painting and developing her own style.

Beth loves to paint in an intuitive way, freely adding layers of acrylic colour and then gradually deciding how to refine and blend them until she is happy with the result.

Heavily inspired by the hills and walks near her home, Beth also recognises that each painting is a result of inspirations from her day to day life: colours, skies, music, family and her Christian beliefs.

Some of the paintings in this exhibition are inspired by a place or a memory but most are imagined landscapes.

“Painting for me is a therapeutic process, I lose track of time and I love how it can transport me to a beautiful place. I hope I can draw you into my world so that you can decide what you see and how it makes you feel.”- Beth Cartwright.
