About the Workshop

A day of learning to Collograph and Gelli print with Artist Fiona Edmondson. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and also for those who have used gelli plates previously. You will experiment with layering of stencils and use of a range of surface textures and natural forms.

Fiona will also guide you through the process of creating collograph plates to use in conjunction with your other gelli printing techniques in this engrossing and addictive process!

About the Artist

Fiona Edmondson is an experienced printmaker and Artist Educator. Originally studying Fine Art painting, she has for many years been fascinated by the qualities and variety ofprintmaking processes and includes etching, gelli, Lino and collograph printing in her own practice, often combining print and painting in her current work.

Materials Required

Please bring with you:
Pencils
Scissors
Craft knife and a cutting mat(some will be available, but if you have your own this may be useful)
Apron
Natural forms such as plants/ flowers/ leaves to use directly on the plates.

Provided:
Inks, gelli plates(6×6 inches)paper and cleaning materials will be provided.

Resources-

you may wish to bring along some images of themes which interest you, for example plants, creatures, decorative elements. If you have an iPad / phone this may be something you may wish to use, but it is not essential.

Location and access:

The workshop is being held in the upstairs community room at South Square Centre, Thornton Road, BD13 3LS

The centre can be accessed easily via public transport. There is free on street parking around the centre. There is an on-site vegetarian café, Plenty, where refreshments and lunch can be purchased.

Cancellation and refunds:

Please note any cancellations made 3 days prior the event will not be refundable.

Any refunds processed will include a deduction of evenbrite fees.
