A Smorkniv butter knife is a utensil that is used to spread dairy or other soft toppings onto a sandwich.

This taster session is the perfect introduction to the absorbing traditional craft of carving useful objects from green wood using simple tools.

There will be a focus on working with the wood grain, enjoying the process and taking your time. You will be taught different knife grips and there is an emphasis on safety throughout.

There will be an option to paint your Smorkniv at the end of the session.

The workshop will be held outside in the peaceful setting of the Brontë garden unless the weather is inclement.

No woodworking experience necessary.
18+ unless accompanied by a guardian who is also participating. Please inquire if under 18.
There will be a short break for lunch. Food from Plenty at the Square is available to buy. Booking strongly advised.
