What does Winter reveal in your landscape?
South Square associate artist Anji Timlin hosts this unique opportunity for 10 individuals to develop their creative skills whilst taking a deeper look at understanding the Thornton landscape.
On your winter walks, participants will be asked to use spare time during the week to explore their local landscapes to gather preliminary photos, notes and sketches to use within the workshops. Immerse yourself in the specifics of where you are, try to absorb it and mindfully connect with the landscape, pick your jewels, pay attention to the colours and textures, to how it sounds and smells, what does it feel like? Are you cold?
Workshops will explore expressive drawing and painting techniques that will allow participants to practice new ways to engage with their local landscape and improve wellbeing. The sessions will also include a section on local heritage of the Thornton and surrounding landscapes, enabling us to understand and appreciate the surrounding landscapes.
