Join us for a collage making session to celebrate World Collage Day.
Artists Jean McEwan and Catherine Cartwright invite you to create your own collaged instant book or ‘mini zine’ at this online event. No prior experience is necessary and people of all ages and abilities are welcome.
The workshop is free and you can book through South Square Centre. Once you have booked your place you will be sent a link for the session on Zoom. A limited number of collage packs will be available to pick up from South Square Centre for local residents.
Participants are invited to use selected images from the Thornton Antiquarian Archive and from the artists, which will also be available to download and print at home here https://southsquarecentre.co.uk/world-collage-dayYou will need a sheet of A4 or A3 paper to make your instant book with, as well as scissors and some glue. You might also want to use anything else you might have at home.
Suggested Materials:
– Magazines, catalogues
– newspapers
– Unwanted photos, cards, postcards
– Coloured paper, card
– Anything else which can be stuck down…wrappers, thread, fabric etc.The workshop will be friendly, informal and interactive. We look forward to seeing you there!About the artists:
