Touch Points
‘Touch Points’ is a group exhibition of digital interruptions, centred around the human body and how our experiences are shaped by technology. The artists in this exhibition use technology to offer an alternative perspective of our living experiences.
As a viewer, and a participant in this exhibition, you will be the catalyst to many of the works. When exploring the space, take note of the commands, as the work relies on touch, sound and human interaction.
Your presence and action within the space is mirrored within the work. You become part of the technology, completing the circuit which is needed for the art to be experienced at its full potential.
‘Touch Points’ encourages us to question what our connections with digital technology are. With new and varied uses of technology, this exhibition questions how this is reflected back to us on a constant and day-to-day basis, how we use technology in new ways to store or conjure up memories, and how our movements and natural rhythms are affected by digital interruptions.
Artists include, Archie Brooks, Michaela French, Aron Spall and Matthew Vaughan.

Helina is an artist who explores the intersection of faith, nature, mental wellbeing and
personal reflection. Working primarily in an impressionistic style with oils, she captures light, movement, and softness to evoke deep emotional resonance.
Guided by her Islamic faith, every brushstroke is an act of devotion, aiming to honor the
harmony between the natural world and the spiritual unseen.
Helena will be presenting two bodies of work:
“Flowers of Faith” and “Sky at Salah” — both are offerings of peace, designed to inspire stillness, nourish the soul, and offer a space of quiet remembrance in a busy world.
“Sky at Salah” is an exploration of light, time, and colour.
Through an impressionistic lens, Helina captures the ever-changing skies from Bradford at
each of the five daily prayers — Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha.
“Flowers of Faith” celebrates the spiritual beauty of nature. Each flower painted reflects an
Islamic virtue, inviting reflection, hope, and remembrance.

Alicja Mrozowska’s paintings navigate the layered terrain of identity, memory, and cultural hybridity through bold portraiture and playful abstraction. Rooted in personal history and shaped by the nuances of migration, her work draws from everyday imagery, reconfiguring the familiar to question how place and experience inform who we are.
Yorkshire Pudding and Pickled Cabbage marks the most expansive presentation of Mrozowska’s work to date, bringing together paintings from 2017 through to 2025. Combining large gestural brushstrokes with recurring motifs and symbolic references, her compositions balance between the recognisable and the obscure, inviting viewers into a space where identities blur, overlap, and reform.
Through a practice grounded in both intuition and process, Mrozowska weaves together collected images – personal, cultural, and imagined – layering them with oil paint and paper to construct portraits that resist singular readings. Her figures emerge not as fixed subjects but as open-ended reflections of internal complexity, shaped as much by social context as by intimate experience.
At once serious and light-hearted, the exhibition revels in contradiction, drawing attention to the tensions between surface and depth, play and constraint, self and other. Mrozowska’s work ultimately asks: how do we perform, obscure, or reveal who we are – especially when those performances take place within the structures of cultural expectation?
Alicja Mrozowska is a Polish visual artist and painter currently based in Leeds. Her practice explores identity, the concept of ‘home,’ and social constructs through a range of mediums including oil painting, film photography, installation, and construction. Drawing from personal experience, surroundings, and relationships, she reflects on the complexities of migration and belonging.
Mrozowska graduated from the University of Salford in 2018 with a BA (Hons) in Visual Art. Since then, she has exhibited widely and taken part in collaborations and group residencies, while also devising and leading creative workshops in the UK, Poland, and Germany. Her process-driven approach weaves together collected images and intuitive mark-making to create narrative-rich, multidimensional works that prompt curiosity, vulnerability, and acceptance.

Join us at our Still Life Drawing Workshop on Saturday 28th June, 10:30am – 12:30pm. Led by artist Zoe Maxwell, this session will focus on flowers and natural forms.
Drawing helps us to slow down and look closely, making us more aware of the world around us. This workshop offers a 2 hour break from distractions, allowing time to focus on the natural beauty of flowers.
The session starts with a few quick drawings to warm up, gradually increasing the time to a 15 or 30 minute sketch. Focusing on process and practice instead of final outcome, at the end of the session you are invited to share your sketches and thoughts with the group.
This workshop is suitable for anyone of any ability, materials will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own also.

Following the success and popularity of the first workshop in April, we have decided to run another!
Come along to this marquetry workshop to create your own unique piece to take home.
In this four-hour workshop (with a 30min break) you will select a wooden base shape (pre cut), and use the materials provided to design a graphic pattern for the front.
Ran by Emily Parkin, she will assist you to use a steel ruler and a craft knife, where you will carefully cut out the sections of the design from a range of coloured wooden veneers, and apply them to the front of your base.
You can make this base into what you wish, as you can decide if this will be a picture holder, or a vase etc. Once decided what you would like your holder to hold, you can drill the correct size holes into the top before applying a wax finish and buffing the whole piece to bring out all the colours and wood grain.
£45 per person – includes all materials and equipment usage.
You can book via Eventbrite, link below, or by popping into the South Square Gallery.
Note – you are welcome to bring your own lunch for the break, but feel free to grab food and drink from the cafe onsite – Plenty at the Square
