Support South Square by joining the ‘Friends of the Square’ membership scheme. As a friend, you’ll receive benefits and discounts from our café, bar and galleries. Your membership comes with a free welcome gift, pin badge and membership card. Not only that, but you’ll be part of an exclusive community of valued supporters and receive invitations to share your ideas with us about the future of the centre.

£36 per year, or £3 monthly

Your generous contribution supports South Square Centre to continue to provide free and low-cost activities, workshops and exhibitions.

You can now become a ‘Best Friend’ of South Square. In addition to the discounts and benefits of the Friends of scheme, you’ll receive personal updates from the South Square directors as well as the opportunity to share your ideas with us about the future of the centre.

As a ‘Best Friend’ you’ll be helping to secure the future of South Square for generations to come. To thank you for your valued contribution, you’ll receive:

How to become a Friend of South Square

Use the PayPal button below to pay for your desired membership level. Once the payment is complete you’ll be directed to fill in your details on our online form. Once that’s all done, we’ll be in touch to arrange your membership gift and pin badge.

South Square is a collection of 19th Century workers cottages, in the old Yorkshire village of Thornton, famous for its Brontë connections and its impressive 20-arch viaduct.

Renovated as a community arts centre in 1982, South Square Centre is now home to ten studio spaces for a variety of artists, as well as a gallery, community spaces, archive, fine art framers, bar and a cafe.

The centre hosts community events and activities for all ages, including an ongoing workshop programme and provides community spaces available to hire.
