Throughout the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021 we have begun to trial a socially distanced and covid safe workshop programme based around traditional craft.
We welcomed Jenny Wren in sharing her practice in using traditional photographic techniques for a Cyanotypes making workshop.
Another Brontë inspired calligraphy workshop saw 16 participants over one day take part in a calligraphy taster course.
Since November we have hosted three online embroidery workshops for 32 participants with Robyn Nichol. Robyn developed the workshop from curating a series of archive images of Thornton shops and businesses. The online embroidery classes were hosted on zoom and included a presentation about the local history which had inspired the design.
