BA (Hons) Art & Design Level 4 students from Bradford College of Art explore Lewis Carroll’s book ‘Thorough the Looking Glass’.

This book could be seen as a satirical concept that considers contemporary politics, gender differences, and societal changes. Perhaps looking through glass really is the landscape we negotiate, through changing shapes like Alice as we struggle to adapt our dreams and desires.

Expanded Consciousness shows students creating work from ideas that have interested them personally. This has been done through exploring chosen narrative, testing a range of approaches and using a plethora of techniques and processes. A variety of mixed media including photography, textiles, paint and sculpture have been utilised to bring these concepts to life.
