- Is there a difference between edible and eatable?
- What do apostrophes do?
- How can using commas change a sentence’s meaning or impact?
- Does hyphenating words matter?
These are just a few questions to see whether you’d benefit from a 90-minute workshop on editing and proofreading your own work or someone else’s.
We all make mistakes in our writing and we often run out of time to check our work thoroughly. Also, when we’re checking our own work, we can often miss mistakes because we tend to see what we intended to write.
Having another person check our work is ideal – if they have the skills and knowledge to do a good job. But this workshop will show you a few techniques to improve your own checks.
This introductory workshop will be led by qualified proofreader/editor and Thornton resident Mark Norris.
To book your place please email marknrr {@} aol.co.uk or call South Square 01274 834746.
This workshop is free but donations for South Square are welcome.
