Join us for a FREE 2-hour still life drawing session led by Zoe Maxwell at South Square Centre
The workshop will start with a selection of everyday objects on the table, things we don’t take a second look at. Paper clips, notebooks, spoons, scissors, just some of the objects we associate with the mundane bits of life.
At the start of the session participants will be encouraged to build assemblages of these everyday objects, to encourage us to look at them in terms of form, texture and size instead of just the things we use throughout our busy days. You will then draw from these different arrangements of objects in different timed drawings, warming up with short 1 minute sketches, gradually getting longer with a 30 minute drawing at the end.
Drawing helps us to slow down and look closely, making us more aware of the world around us. This workshop is suitable for anyone of any ability, materials will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own also.
Tickets are FREE, or pay as you wish.
